Our Mission
The mission of Healthy Lifestyle Network, Inc is to teach self-management techniques to adults and children to effect lifestyle changes and improve health outcomes, and promote cultural activities.
Healthy Lifestyle Network conducts the Shelton Project in Portland, Jamaica. Currently we work with the Primary Schools. All 40 Primary Schools received books from a 50,000 shipment to establish or replenish their libraries in time for the 24-25 School year.
Each March we conduct the Stand Up for Children which focuses on the two conferences for boys and girls to provide hope and instill confidence to speak up against childhood sexual abuse.
The youth four prong program
Environmental Stewardship - planting trees, flowers, vegetables, fruits.
Healthy Food Choices - increase intake of fruits and vegetables, reduce sugary drinks and snacks.
Physical Activity - learn the sport of football to encourage physical activity, and teach sportsmanship.
Reading - encourage reading and provide books to furnish school library.
The lifechance program
Teach vocational skills to women and teens. During the Shelton Project summer camp the teens and women learn quilting, basketmaking, bead making and jewelry making to allow them the opportunity to develop a cottage industry.
